Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law
Greetings on the Summer Solstice from the Master and Officers of AMeTh Lodge!
The Sun has entered the Sign of Cancer, rose at 4:43am, passed the Solstice at 5:24am and will set at 9:31pm, allowing for 16 hours and 38 minutes of daylight. The Summer Solstice is the longest day of the year and this year, may be one of the warmest!
Sol, Our Father the Sun at His highest point on the celestial sphere for us in the Northern Hemisphere and at full power here on the Earth. The zenith in the sky for our “Lord visible and sensible”, the ultimate source of all physical energy upon and within our planet, that is but one among myriads of worlds. From this point onward we enter the waning year and the gradual shortening of days.
The Element of Fire, often represented by balefires, has a very prominent role in solstice rites and festivals ancient and modern. The Element of Fire is the most easily seen and immediately felt element of transformation. It gives warmth and light, can inflame, inspire, incinerate, cook, consume or purify.
For those who have booked we will be gathering this evening for the Feast for the Summer Solstice.
Much look forward to seeing many of you later and whatever you do today, rejoice and enjoy!
“Aye! feast! rejoice! there is no dread hereafter. There is the dissolution, and eternal ecstasy in the kisses of Nu.”
– Liber AL vel Legis II.44
Love is the Law, love under will
